less of us

"By grace we love and are loved by this glorious and exalted Jesus whom we worship unceasingly, serve unwaveringly, and proclaim unashamedly until our face is at his feet." Vintage Jesus (Mark Driscoll and Gerry Breshears)

Do we really live like this? We nod our head in agreement and verbally affirm the truths but do we truly live like this...do we seek this extreme devotion with our whole heart? Do we really count everything as garbage compared to knowing Christ.

I don't.I want to. I want to proclaim unashamedly the name of our Savior King, Jesus Christ and I pray to God for opportunities..only to prove myself as a coward. I want to love, i mean really love people, but try to in my flesh (which is impossible!) instead of loving by God's grace, by which I am loved. I want to unceasingly worship God who is the only One worthy but I trade His glory for things less glorified..chasing lovers less wild.

Let us pray for a passion like David in Psalm 63, like Habakkuk (Habakkuk 3:17-18)and Job-praising God in plenty or in poverty, and like Paul, counting EVERYTHING as rubbish compared to knowing Christ. We need God to teach us to tarry, to wait on the Lord and not rest until He shows Himself. To be still and KNOW he is God...to know...not to feel He is God or to praise Him only when we feel He is near, to recognize our need only when we've drifted so far from our Father.. He alone IS God and that is sufficient, His grace is sufficient!

Let us draw near to the Father who will not turn us away and pray He holds us close to Himself-we are so prone to wander. By his ridiculous grace are saved and by his grace alone are we even able to fellowship with God, and "worship unceasingly, serve unwaveringly and proclaim unashamedly" our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let us not sit around in our inadequacies, feel hostage to our humanity, and wallow in our shortcomings...but pray for God's perfect and all sufficient strength and grace, through which we have power to accomplish everything He has set out for us to do.

All glory to God, the Divine Creator of my being, Savior and Lover of my soul
